Medway Council   

Regional Network Solutions were employed by Medway Council to carry out a pre-market investigation to supply of Public Sector Network for the Council  

RNS were used to produce all the necessary Executive Summaries to engage the Senior Management and Councillors included background information, such as the history of Government secure networks, Shared Services agenda and procurement routes. This work was carried using Medway Council’s objectives through the delivery of the ‘Better for Less’ transformation programme. 

Using these initiatives as guidance RNS conducted a Soft Market Review which included Medway Council staff in order to assess this commercial landscape effectively prior to committing to an approach. Potential suppliers and partners were invited to participate and describe the solution options they could offer, together with the associated indicative costs and commercial arrangements. Participants also advised on procurement routes through which their solution could be acquired.  

This produced a report which indicated that the Council could save over 50% on costs compared to the PSN framework by procuring in a different manner. 

RNS supported the Council with Market information, Technical Information, Understanding of where the market was going and the players in the market. 

This was delivered in time and under budget.
